A 4 day overland walking safari in the Australian outback
An overland walking safari is one of the best ways to experience the sights and sounds of outback Australia and Arkaba provides a most beautiful and impressive setting in which to walk.

In the company of expert guides, whose passion and knowledge of the environment will inspire and motivate their fellow walkers, guests have the chance to immerse themselves in the Ranges varied habitats. From dry creek beds, isolated waterholes, lined with 1,000 year old river gums to craggy ridge lines and rolling hills covered in cypress pines to the ancient ramparts of Wilpena Pound, this is some of the most stunning walking country in Australia. The guides will show you secret spots on the property and recount stories of the people, indigenous inhabitants, explorers and settlers, who have created the human history of this area. There are remote and long forgotten yards that were used by cattle rustlers in years gone by, shepherds huts and old red gums whose hollowed trunks provided shelter and sustenance for indigenous people.

Walks are conducted in small groups of up to 8 people, accompanied by an expert guide or guides. Camps are set up in spectacular locations on the property and provide the chance to sleep out under the stars in a swag - the bedroll of choice for generations of bushmen. Our swags are the deluxe version, with 100% cotton sheets, pillows, duvets for the cooler months and a thick mattress to ensure a great night's sleep. At the end of each day, walkers are greeted by a camp that has been set up in advance, a delicious dinner and a good supply of wines and other beverages. Everything you will need to enjoy a magical evening out under the stars before settling down to sleep between crisp cotton sheets under the expanse of the southern skies.
Walks operate between 14th March to 3rd November 2013, with departures each Thursday.
